Twinkle "Star"

How this beauty is called,

"Egyptian Star Cluster",

I have no idea.

Locally known as "Pentas",

This tiny cluster of flowers make never-ending beauty in any garden.

Just look at the buds below,

Doesn't it look like a petite floral arrangement,

Complete with lovely foliage?

Furry alright and deeply veined....yet beautiful.

This shocking pink beauty is among its bold color collection.

Pentas is known for its gorgeous pastel colors.

Sad to say, I have none of them :(

I just love this stage where the buds emerged into flowers,

As shown below.

Maybe this is the reason they are called "star".

We all know that stars don't twinkle simultaneously.

But, one at a time.

(Hahaha..me and my lame analogy, lol!!)

This bold red color with violet center,

Has been in my garden for a year now.

And I'm still loving it!

Truly a timeless beauty,

It will grace any garden at any time beautifully,
Be it in pots or spread generously over the ground :)

Last but (surely) not Least

This is it!

The last of hydrangea blooms in my garden.

And I have truly enjoyed watching them for one whole month.

Here in intense pink.

Smallest bunch looking so demure in pastel pink.

This subtle blue is forever calming to my eyes..

Sure gonna miss having this color gracing my garden.

Blooms in shocking pink due to the intense heat.

Ever since I brought it home, the weather had been extremely hot.

Had to water it more than twice daily.

It was worth it I guess looking at how beautiful the color intensifies.

Pretty in pale light blue

Forever my favorite color :)

Without a doubt, I will definitely miss this flower very much.

Will it be able to produce new blooms in the near future..

Remains to be seen.

I did my best to expose it gradually to the morning sun

To acclimatize it to our local weather.

Well, that's all I can do, right?

Anyway, it has been a great pleasure looking after it :)

"I'm walking on sunshine..."

Yeayy!! 

The flower with its unique character and exquisite color collection is now in my garden!

Simply beautiful blue hydrangea.

I can fall in love with this flower over and over again.
Even these unopened buds are adorable, just like tiny blueberries!

It's fascinating to see the gradual change in color hues all in one plant! 

And this blue is about to get purplish in no time. 

It is interesting to note that the colors of the flowers are determined by the pH of the soil.

Alkaline soil produces these pinkish mauve flowers. 

Pinkish mauve has been my all time favorite color and it is wonderful to see it here on the petals :)

Check out the large flower-heads which are quite round and flat, unlike the usual mop-head.

Hydrangeas are not our native plant yet it is cultivated locally as an ornamental plant.

It would be a miracle if I would be able to maintain these temperate beauties till 

each and every flower-head blooms beautifully! 

My greatest challenge is to grow it permanently by my window

which happens to be my garden :)

"Say goodbye..." on Medinilla Astronioides

This is it.
Time to say goodbye.
The show is ending...

These are the last of it.
Notice the pearly petals glimmering under the sun?
It wasn't there before..

Now that it is ending,
Even the pearly pink buds too,
Were showing off their glimmers..
Under the shimmering sun.

All that remains..
The 'skeleton',
Which held the magnificent beauty that was once there.

What a graceful way of closing its curtain..

As for the rest who have been waiting anxiously... lets move on!

Picking up from where we left, the 'Christmas tree' continued growing...

The pink color intensifies with each passing day and red ants were clambering all over the buds.
Could it be sweet?
Maybe not...
I know red ants have 'unthinkable' and unimaginable palate,
They eat anything including clothes!

Oooppss..the first peek!
Can you see it?
Only one bud..lazily opening up its petals.

Suddenly the next day...walla!
5 buds bloomed!!..
Much to my surprise!
And what a lovely surprise it was...

Just look at it...
Those tiny fingers or stamen in purple and yellow is spectacular!

Close-ups..

The peculiar thing is that, there's only one bloom from the cluster of buds.
Obviously, the rest look immature and not the right time to bloom, yet.

This is how the blooms look like today..
After patiently waiting and observing for about a week..
Just one bloom from each cluster.

This may sound funny but..

Could it be the buds refused to open just because they are being watched? LOL!

I was told that plants have 'feelings'..

Or maybe this is the way Mother Nature wants them to be :)

Either way, this is a unique sets of flowers.

And I am intrigued and excited with each blooming stage.
And you know what?
I was told the flower looks more fascinating when they are dying...
Really? We shall see about that :)

Medinilla Astronioides

I am so intrigued and fascinated with this flower.
So I am documenting its blooming stages.
I have never seen a flower evolved so much.
Right from the very beginning.


It started as a pod..

Then the pod opens, scattering specks of white dust all over its foliage.

Revealing a cluster of tiny white pearls bound together like an engagement ring!
Outstanding beauty masterfully crafted and designed by mother nature :)

The 'ring' expanded all over.

Looking like a bunch of grapes.

And now it looks like a Christmas tree..
Leaning forward as the bunch gets heavier with the ever-growing pearls.

How enchanting..
What could be more 'magical' than this :)

I am taking pictures daily to capture the wonders of this beautiful creation.
I am curious to see its final 'bow'.
But as of now, this is it.
