Platycodon Grandiflorus

Fancy seeing hot air balloons in your garden?!

This "Sentimental Blue" Japanese Bellflowers as it is commonly known,
captured my heart when I walked into the nursery.
And I knew instantly that I gotta have it!!

Revealing another 'balloon' inside as it slowly puffs out its first layer of petals.
And taking its time to open the rest of it.

Just love its lavender blue color.

And bell shaped flowers fit for fairies :)

Tolerates both sun and shade.

This beauty is definitely for keeps.
In any garden.

Have a good week everyone.
Take care :)

    1. Hi Karen!
You should grow it and let it spread like a border.
I bet your garden will be the center of admiration by many :)

  2. I've planted it before and it died :( so, that was the end of its story. Now, I'll only grow plants that can stand much neglect.

    1. Good thinking! Guess what? I'm having the same approach now for my garden, only the strongest stays. You can just imagine the 'vitamins' I'm feeding them with :)

    1. Wow! It can survive winter?! It comes in single petals too?
Never knew one same plant can behave differently elsewhere.
That's the beauty of Mother Nature, full of surprises :)
