never thought I would see any herb flowering in my garden..
but it did!
and I'm so thrilled to bits
presenting my cinnamon basil! :)
tadaa..
tiny yet dainty sweet flower..
from this tiny pot which I bought from the supermarket 3 months ago!
if you are wondering if it taste like cinnamon..
it has the faint scent of cinnamon
but tastes like sweet basil
I have bought this plant from the supermarket too but they didn't last as long as yours. Its no wonder that you are so thrilled.
ReplyDeleteI was warned about supermarket plants but I bought it anyway. This surely was a lovely surprise :)
DeleteI love basil and cinnamon taste as well Ash!
ReplyDeleteI planted its seed in early summer and now have a pot with large basil 'wood'!
When I cook salad I use 4-5 leaves for it. Yummy!
Did you say large? Wow! Can't imagine that but it is woody alright. I thought it was dying when I saw it turning 'wood'! LoL!! Yeah..I must remember to cook this often so that it gets pruned and bear more flowers! Oh thanks Nadezda for this reminder :)
DeleteI like basil, but such species as you describe is not zalam yet. Interesting. Regards.
ReplyDeleteThis is first experience for me too Giga. It's a lovely plant and I hope you have one in your greenhouse..winter is on its way right.
DeleteHello Ash! It's been too long since my last visit :( Basil is one of our favourite summer plants. We make sure to accidentally brush by it every time we're in the garden. It's wonderful aromatherapy!
ReplyDeleteHi Rosemary..glad to see you here again. We all have our commitments, don't worry about that, come when you can..my door is always open :)
DeleteHave you tried doing that to lemon thyme? Ooohh..you'll go crazy with its scent! And plant it next to your gate!
Hello Julia,
ReplyDeleteWelcome to you! :)
I must say it is a pleasure to have you here in my tiny garden. And I will be following you soon. Thanks for taking the time to browse my blog ;)
