Hello... Is it me you're looking for?

Look who came by today..
It's a bird!!
And she is so tiny..
I was looking out my window when I took the shots.
All I could see was her back..
In various shades of white, grey and teal,
Which I thought was beautiful :)

I wanted to see more of her,
So I began talking to her..
Oh! It worked!
She started turning towards the sound direction..
Towards me.
And just look at that TURN!
Oh my goodness!
A 180-degree turn..
Straight into my lens!!!
And what a stern look she gave me.. haha!!

This is my first experience shooting a bird.
And I think this bird is loving the attention she was getting.
So she put up some 'show' for me.
Stretching her body all over..

Which is awesome..
As her colors are more apparent to see.

And before I knew it...
She was gone!
She took off after this last show.
I didn't get a chance to see her when she flew away.
Her tiny body must be light enough to speed off,
In just a blink of the eye.

Will I see her again?

Birds do come to my window quite often.
And most of the time I couldn't capture them.
Better chances next time,
I assured myself  :)

"That's the End, folks"
Have a lovely weekend!

A note of thanks to a good friend Willy Ronkes who identified the bird as a Swallow :)

  1. Ash, great shots! I know to take photos of birds is very difficult and you're lucky the bird was posing you!

    1. Oh Nadezda, I never thought I would be able to shoot her at all but to my surprise she responded when I started talking to her!
Guess I was lucky indeed :)

  2. Hi Hameeda,

What a great encounter with this swallow. I think it's a swallow, because of his long tail.

And you took a nice shoot of her.
just keep talking to the birds then they will appear. I look forward to your next bird blog!

    Enjoy your day.

    1. Thank you so much for the identification Willy.
I'm amazed that birds respond to human voice!
There are many birds outside my window but to shoot them is a challenge :)
Don't know when will I be able to get lucky again.
You have a good day too!
      And thanks again :)

  3. Cieszę się, że ptak Cię odwiedził i mogłaś zrobić zdjęcia. Pozdrawiam.
I'm glad that you visited the bird and you could take pictures. Yours.

    1. Thank you Giga.
It was a beautiful moment to know that birds love human!
Will try to take more pictures :)
      Have a good week ahead!
      Take care.

  4. What a beautiful jewel of a bird! I've never seen one like it over here. Maybe now that it knows you'll take pictures, it will become a regular visitor.

    1. Thanks Rosemary, it is a pretty bird, a Swallow.
      Plenty of them over here.
And guess what?! She came back again yesterday!!
To the exact same spot she sat before :)
Actually, I have seen her around for quite a bit.
That is why I decided to shoot her.
You are so right! She is a regular visitor now :)

  5. Jeg kom bare lige forbi.
    Smuk fugl.
    Gode billeder. Godt fanget.
    Tak for kigget.
    Ha´ en dejlig aften.

  6. Hello Aase Marie, welcome to my blog!
    Good to see you here.
Thank you for your lovely comments :)

    Have a good weekend!

  7. What good bird shots for a first attempt. There are several types of birds visiting my garden but I've never seen this type. It would be good to know its ID.

    1. Thanks Stiletto.
It's a Swallow and guess what?
There will be one waiting for me by the window everyday!
..and posing for me as well :)
I have other types of birds coming as well..
But very quick to fly away before I could do anything :(

Thanks for your lovely words...
